The Nisert is Foster Needle's patented metal needle board insert for giving absolutely perfect needle alignment in boards. In addition, the Nisert also eases and speeds needle changes.

The Nisert is retained in the needle board hole by outward pressure from the outer spring arm. The needle is held in the body of the Nisert and cradled by the inner spring arm. These two clamping forces are therefore completely independent.

Niserts are manufactured from spring tempered carbon steel. It is intrinsically accurate by virtue of its design and method of manufacture. The body is a drawn section and has tremendous three dimensional stability. It is this rigid section which actually locates the felting needle relative to the needle board hole. The Nisert gives an accuracy of the drilled hole.

The center section of the body hugs the wall of the hole in the needle board, and formed up at each end of this section are two cradles in which the needle shank lies. These cradles are flared to give an easy lead-in for the needles.

In addition to the advantages listed above, Niserts will reduce needle breakage. This is a result of both the ease of which new needles can be fitted and the superior needle alignment as compared to plastic inserts.
